Alison’s father was in San Antonio over the weekend, since Austin is only a little over an hour away we decided to come down for a day. As we were only there for a day we just checked out the touristy areas of The Alamo and River Walk. The Alamo isn’t the biggest or most extravagant place to visit. You could probably walk around and take in the experience in less than an hour. But as someone that is into history I enjoyed visiting this shrine. The River Walk is super touristy but overall I enjoyed walking around it. I liked going away from the tourist filled River Bend area and going through the River Walk areas that were more scenic and park like.
Overall I enjoyed the day I spent in San Antonio. It does seem more like a travel destination for families, especially with Sea World and Six Flags in the area. So I don’t envision myself taking any long vacations here, but maybe an occasional weekend visit. Below are some pictures I took of The Alamo and River Walk areas.
